 Wild rats/large mice

there’s either these large mice or small rats that are here in northern florida.they are very common, although rarely seen in the day and are light brown and a little white.like an eastern cottontail rabbit’s color. and are about 4 or 5 in. long i think they’re called feild mice? but do over 1 in 2 of these wild mice carry rabbies?are they safe to feed to wild caught snakes from the same area? i don’t see why not since they have already been feeding on the mice but i want to make sure.

I dont know that rabies are that common anywhere O.o but you could probably call your local wildlife center or animal control to find out but I think I would be more worried about the parasites/germs the wild mouse brought in... but you are right if its a wild caught snake it has been eating those mice but I still wouldnt risk the parasites, so maybe if you killed it humanely and froze it? Im no expert on this as I have never fed my snakes anything i didnt breed... lol
