The last few days got unseasonably hot, and the mamas and papa moved the babies out of their cardboard nest box. This happened with several of my tubs. The mouse barn is shaded and has a big fan, which helped. Yesterday there were piles of pinks and fuzzies all over the tubs in the bedding, out of the nest boxes. At night the parents bring everyone back inside, but this one big group was still out this morning. Fortunately the heat wave has subsided today!

Well, come to think of it, yes, I am running a mouse farm, albeit on a small scale. I have 11 young king snakes and gopher snakes, and sell my surplus to a friend, which covers the cost of feed, bedding, ect.

Those little brown/white cuties at the bottom of the last pic are SO adorable! I don’t think I could ever get myself to feed them off to anything. Are they food or pets?

This is the papa to one of the color lines I am working with. Am also breeding for red mice. These are pets.
