I have not seen one in the wild, but I have seen them. Yes, the are very hard to find. And even though you live in florida, you will have to be looking in the right places to even have a chance of finding one.

there are lots of ditches, and creeks around, should it swing a net through the water? turn over rocks? dig in mud? look in burrows? where have u seen them?

Mampam, why are you so interested in catching one of these animals? Certainly your interest in amphibians has led you to understand that it is not a responsible choice to remove any members of a wild amphibian population. It would be much better if you used your interest to promote healthy wild populations rather than depleting them. Use your interest to educate others. Continue to look for wild amphibians, but bring a camera rather than a net. I believe that you will find that your efforts toward conservation prove far more rewarding than having an unusual pet.

not only do i not currently want one as a pet, but my parents dont like snakish animals, so i couldnt anyway. i just want to add some photos to my collection. there on my i must find and photo list.
