 Hyperactive newt??

Hi, I just wanted to know if it’s normal for a newt to be ’hyperactive’. I recently changed his food to earthworms, would that make him hyper? Is it something I should worry about?

He’s been running round his tank and going in the water, which he doesn’t normally do, and trying to eat his plant *weird*. He normally just sits under the bark and watches my cat try to get him. It’s really really really weird.

ok, ill try, but the problem is, im at school for most of the week, so keeping the cat away from the tank then would be a little bit of a problem, i suppose i could try moving miroku to my bedroom, but then, my rooms only a small room, so the temperature could be a problem, any ideas?!?
