Eggs in fire belly newt tank Today I was looking at my fire belly newt froogle. I had thought he was a male since his cloaca is a little swollen. But while looking at him just a while ago i saw a few eggs. After looking further, I discovered 5 total eggs that were somewhat visible. Froogle is the only pet im my tank. Most eggs are on the plastic plant and one egg is in the elodia plant. Ive had Froogle for almost 6 months now. Is it normal for newts lay unfertile eggs when there is no other newt around? The eggs have some clear protection layer around them. The eggs themselves are whitish and round but have a blackish color on the top of them. Should i just throw them out ? Will Froogle keep laying more eggs ? The eggs are about the sized of one of Froogles eyes, maybe a little bigger. This has never happened before so i dont know what to do with them. Thanks in advance for the help.
Here are some pics: They are difficult to see though.

Eggs in fire belly newt tank It’s possible she was mated by a male before you got her? But 6 monthes is a long time, IDK if they store sperm like a lizard does, but you can expect around 200 eggs total, and the black thing is the baby newt. Good luck.
