 Do newts need any lighting?

Do newts need any lighting(like uvb,heat,etc.)?or can they just be kept around light?

they dont need any light(especialy no heat light) light is usually just a personal preference of the owner, or if you have live plants

My Bloo get’s
Natural light straight from the sun
None of this light in a bulb non sense
No heat mat or Thermometer thingy
Just cold water that rise’s to room temprature and she does Grrreat

I would recommend that you use a natural-spectrum fluorescent bulb or a tank hood that contains one. This makes your display more attractive and stimulates plant growth (aquatic plants in the water, mosses on the land area, etc.) Fluorescent lights give off almost no heat compared to incandescents and so will do no harm to your amphibians. Once you set it up, I would also recommend that you put it on a timer so it’s on only during daylight hours and off at night, to simulate the natural day-night cycle.
