 Lyciasalamandra billae painting

So as an art photography/zoology student who’s photo class got cancelled the day before all spring class enrollment ended and was thrown into a painting class because nothing else was open and who has absolutely no talent with a paintbrush....


not too shabby?

haha. i am in no way happy with it as a painting, but as a painting done by ME...i’m simply amazed that it even looks like a salamander.

I painted it from this picture by Wouter Beukema...as far as crediting goes, I didn’t look into it because this forum is as public as this painting’s gonna make it. But anyway, this is the picture he took that I did my painting off of..


My favourite species of salamander :)

Haha. It took me a while to find the smiley, but I see it now.

I hope he’s happy. :) His species is critically endangered, but I don’t think he realizes it..
