 Roughskin newts, PLEASE READ!!!!

Hi!!! i have 3 wild rough skin newts that i found in a pond, since they are wild, i’m not sure if they will eat what i give them, (brine shrimp and worms) are there any techniques i should use to get them use to eating from a dish or something? I’m open to all options! but please nothing mean or rude. i just want to know. thanks!!!!!

Find out what they ate in the pond and get something exact or similiar. Or even go dig up stuff from the same pond area, like worms, to give to them.
Always live food, since he’s wild and he won’t want anything else. Try putting it in front of their face with fingers or tongs, that might entice them. Cutting animals up so they smell the ’insides’ can tempt them to eat too.

If they don’t eat relatively soon, let them go..but if they do start eating from you, you have to keep them because they’ll be too spoiled by captive life to adjust back to wild.

earthworms are an easy, great food for these newts, thats all I feed mine and thats pretty much the only think I feed my other caudates
