 Keeping cool

So I am trying to think of ideas to keep my salamander cage cooler in the summer months coming up and was wondering what your opinions are. Do you think a cool mist humidifier would be ok? There shouldn’t be anything wrong with it right? It will create a cool fog and I can put it on a timer too.

They actually are in the basement now. I am just trying to think ahead, I live in mn so it doesn’t get real hot in the summer, but we don’t always have the ac on so I just want to be prepared. Thanks

Hey Jazmjo !
What ideas do you have, im havin the same problem and its hard to create a constant cool place, not for dummies i think.
Im having some ideas to cool water and air, but my experiments with some dificulty reach 20 C.
Ice is unconfortable, and radiator base ideas are comming to my head, if my experiment works, ill let you know.

Animal Lover, I would say no to keeping the rabbit in the same room as the painting. As for the garage, does the rabbit ever see them around? Do they bother the rabbit? If they don’t bother it then I don’t see a problem. I would keep it on a higher level and cover a couple or 3 sides so it feels secluded.

Have you considered getting him fixed? I had mine done and it wasn’t a big deal for him at all unlike the cat and dog.

Metalsapo- My idea was just to have a cool mist humidifier, the ’fog’ it creates would be sent through a tube into the tank. I have no idea how well it will work but I imagine it may help slightly. Zoo med actually makes one now too. Link But it will be cheaper for me to just by my own and silicone the right tubes in place.
