 Need help

o.k so i need to know what kind of Salamander could fit in this...

and is there any other kind of substrate besides dirt? o ya i almost forgot that it does not half to be for beginners i also own 1 fl corn 2 crested geckos and 1 baby beardy. plz respond thank you! ps the cage is the bigest one!

I wouldn’t put any salamander in there..that’s the kind of container my crickets live in.

I would go for a 10 gallon tank, they’re only 20 bucks at walmart.
And with that, you could go for a tiger/fire/spotted salamander. I advise the tiger, though. They’re really easy and personable. They’re also distributed more in the pet trade, there’s a lot more information on them and they’re just sweet animals.
They need height in a container, not for climbing, but for burrowing in inches of substrate. That’s where they’ll spend a great deal of time. =)
I know you said not beginner, but really most salamanders are pretty easy and basic. I would describe upkeep as more tedious than ever hard.

a twenty gallon would be perfect, make sure you have lots of hiding spots, and keep it cool(preferably 60’s to low 70’s)

use regular old pesticide/chemical free dirt
