I CAN take a picture but it’s just a 10 gallon tank (he’s growing fast, I’ll probably upgrade him within this summer) with 2 bricks of eco earth, 1 hide and a large, SHALLOW water dish.
They’ll need a lot of dirt to bury themselves in.
Do you have experience with herps?
I do believe I’m the only person with a fire salamander here, so if you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer them.

to my understanding, fire sals are really easy to keep, almost the same care as say a tiger sal or other terrestrial sals

I’d love to get some and breed ’em, but im short on cash(when am I not though...)

Seeing as I am the only person here with a fire...
Dane is correct. Very similar. My girl buries all of the time in cold, wet cocofiber and eats earthworms from a local bait shop. I don’t dig my own..lol.
All I really do is pour water in the tank constantly and feed. I need a lot of fans during the summer though to keep her cool.

AllHailRain is right. I think it’s very important to stress that Fires be kept on the cool side all of the time. They seem to like to move around more during the night too.

Mine actually moves around in the mourning and at night.
but everytime she hears someone come into her room, she comes out of her cave or dirt and up to the glass and will follow you inside her tank wherever you go in the room.
I’ve read about other fire sals doing it also, so they’re very personable sals. :]

take lots of pictures! they’re beautiful creatures, i’ll be interested to see what subspecies you get. :)
