 What newt to get!

Hi, I live in California and was wondering what I needed to have for a newt, how much money to save, and if it would fit into a ten gallon tank. If you now any newts that are good for me please help, and thanks if you answer back.

 What newt to get!

If it’s your first newt, I’d say a fire bellied newt. 1 fire bellied newt will fi comfortabley in a 10 gallon.

Materials:

10 gallon aquarium
LID (fish hood, screen lid, ect. REQUIRED they may escape)
Floated drift wood or turtle docks
LARGE gravel
Filter
Plants and decorations
Two hides
Aquatic newt food(Earthworms, bloodworms, blackworms, ect. Frozen or live) or crickets. It depends whether your newt likes to eat in the water.
Fire bellied newt

Care:

Feed a couple times a week
Use tap water conditioner or bottled spring water to fill the tank
Make sure to remove any uneaten food
do not handle
TOXIC DO NOT EAT OR RUB YOUR EYES, NOSE, OR MOUTH AFTER TOUCHING
Water MUST be cool 68 degrees F. or lower(But no lower then 60F)
Don’t use sand
Make sure they had places to climb onto land

They don’t need special lighting as they are nocturnal

I’ve had experience with keeping the water too warm and the newt getting very stressed out and stop eating.

I think that’s the basics. Any questions?
