 Newts w/ frogs

i have 6 eastern newts that are at a terrestrial stage and we recently found about 500 tadpoles in our pool and are going to release some of them but wanted to keep some wil the frogs do alright with newts

I don’t think that’s a very good idea. Think about all the bacteria, diseases, and viruses you’ll be exposing the newts to which will lower their life expectancy. Also, what if the newt accidentally mistakes the frog for food? Not only will you lose the frog but you might lose the newt to impaction.

I’m sure someone else will come on and give better reasons. But we really must not mix species since such small conditions (as opposed to the outside world) can breed disease, stress, and unhappiness

Bad Idea newts will get eatn by the frogs. there not very good tankmates

I Just Bought a Paddle Tail / Firebelly Newt And a Firebelly Toad Today And They Were In The Same Tank At My Petstore So I Figured I Would Put Them In The Same Tank At Home And So Far,, Theyve Been Doing Pretty Well. But You Might Want To Feed The Newt Seperatly Because Frogs Are Selfish Jerks
