 Sore on Newt’s Back

I noticed what seems to be a white looking sore, less than 1 millimeter in size on top of his back but near the base of the tail. He might have rubbed himself on a piece of wood, but I’m not sure. The sore doesn’t look fuzzy or anything like that. What can I put on it so it doesn’t get infected? Does he need to be on some damp toweling while he heals? I appreciate any help.
