 Red efts?

I have one red eft and one green frog. I was told not to put them together but they seem to be fine. Do I HAVE to separate them? If I do wont the be lonley?

Also what can I feed my newt? He dosent eat the tiny crickets and Im worried. Can I feed him something that isnt alive or does it have to move?

I plan on getting another newt. can I mix a fire bellied newt with the red eft?

 Red efts?

Mixing species is an issue that has come up a lot lately. Please allow me to suggest that you check some of the other posts for more information about why mixing species can be so dangerous to your animals. Your post does address a new topic, though, and i would like to address that. Amphibians are largely solitary animals. They come together during mating season, but spend the rest of the time mostly on their own. There is no evidence to support that they get lonely or need companionship--particularly from those of other species. From a human perspective, this can seem strange. But they really do just fine without companions in their enclosures. Mixing species poses a far greater threat to your newt and frog (and any future newts) than any risk of loneliness.

Thanks so much. I really do appreciate the help. Do you happen to know if hibernating is required and for how long?
