 Feeding?

Does anyone know if newts can be fed fish food pellets or does it have to be specialist newt food pellets?
Also is it necessary to feed them live foods?

YOu can use newt pellets, seldom newts wil leat it. NO fish pellets- wouldn’t risk it. Use live food, its healthier. Use california black worm and blood worms, f you dont like crickets. THe blood worms come frozen, freeze dried, and live- get live or frozen.

Thanks, if I get one i will ask what they are used to being fed. Can fish eat blood worms aswell? Also they sell tadpoles. Is it better to buy them as tadpole or newt?

Fish can eat blood worms, and from what I’ve seen love it. I would say get a newt, but if you want get the tadpole instead. Personally I perfer newts.

newts cannot be fed fish pellets because they see based on movement they will think its a pebble or chunk of wood depending on where there from try crickets meal worms or wax worms oh but never any types of roaches they choke them because they have weak stomach lines an a easily breakable esophagus
