 Pregnant Scorpion Question

Hey,

So I have a pregnant scorpion, and i think she is due soon because she looks like shes about to explode and she is really really skitzy, like the slightest movements she gets really defensive. I was wondering (since i know a couple people on this thread breed scorps) if when she gives birth, if i should just put crickets in their like normal and the mom will kill them and feed it to the babys, or should i put pinhead crickets in the tank, or should i kill the crickets and feed the scorps....

alright cool, thanks... plus should the humidity and temp be kept the same, cause my temp and humidity are a lttle below what they should be but both my scorps seem really healthy ( though the olive keeled im not sure eats much) but they both do good

yah... i got th heat pad in there... i just need to mist alot.... the warm weather is coming so the humidity has gone up alot..... i was watching this thing on youtube... it was like a national geographic thing on scorpions giving birth , it said emperors(but they looked like red claws) and it said that the babies it the membrane they come out of, so i guess thats what they feed on ..

All of my females, without exception, preferred the regular large crickets post-partum. I found that it also cut down on infanticide if the crickets were larger than the babies so the mother wouldn’t mix the two sizes up. One thing I found though; if I put in too many crickets, Momma got a little too skiddish and bitchy and tended to be interrupted a little too much. I found that they preferred relative quiet and inactivity in their tank (with regards to live food critters) as compared to normal. non-birthing times. One of my oldest females is nearly ready to give birth too and if luck holds - I should get 35-45 healthy babies (she’s huge). Good luck with your clutch - I hope they all survive.

i think my emp is going to give birth soon cuz she has a burrow and she dug right to the heat pad then my male got like green stuff on his claws and top eyes so i put him in the tank for both witch is the one the female is in and he made the door bigger on the burrow and she dug deeper could that be a sign of he getting close????/

idk that could be.... mine actually just started fiving birth 3 hours ago, and she is on the opposite side of the tank of where the heat pad is.... weird.... but she is FINALLY giving birth and its really cool.... i hope your scorp is doing good , i would keep them seperated though
