Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! I just got an emperor in November from a breeder (not sure if it’s male or female). It’s in a 10gal tank with one side at 85 degs and 80% humidity. It’s was eating great (crickets) from the tweezers until about mid-February, when it completely stopped eating. Now every time I offer food it will pinch the food and release. If I leave a cricket in the cage, the scorpion runs away from it. I have also tried mealworms and waxworms, but it isn’t interested at all. It doesn’t look like it’s going to molt, and it still seems healthy - drinking, moving around the cage and climbing the walls at night trying to get out. I have read that they will stop eating before a molt or before they give birth - but no care sheet says for how long the fasting will/can occur. I’m really worried about it, but don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any information or advice??

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! i had the same exact problem.... wine wouldnt eat and everytime she would grab the food she would just pinch and and try and like throw it away like it was gross.... mine had an infection though.... dont feed the scorp with the tweezers... if they are hungry, then they will hunt for their own prey... try that and see how it goes... keep us posted as well

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! So, I should continue to try and offer crickets several times a week and remove if it doesn’t eat them overnight? Also, how do I know if it’s gravid? Here are a few picture of it (sorry, the side few is blurry...).

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! wow, your emp is very overfed, im not surprised it wont eat, the scales on the back should not be lifted to see the grey area in between. Just remember that emps have a very slow metabolism and a fat one liek that has had enough food for a very long time. I overfed my first emp scorpion too so then i didint give it food until all that grey area basically dissapeared.

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! yah, let her loose some of the weight, and then feed her twice a week.... put the cricket in the tank and let the scorp catch it on its own... but she looks healthy... a little chubby, but healthy

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! Seriously?? I didn’t think I was overfeeding... Since I got it, I have only feed it 2-3 medium-sized crickets a week - until it stopped eating in mid-February. That’s what the breeder and the care sheets told me to do.

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! it all depends on the size of the scorp, i dont go along with what the care sheets say when it comes to feeding, i just look at how fat or skinny the scorp is and feed it according to that, even right now i havent fed my emps anything in a week cuz they ate a tad too much and look chubby. Plus, emps will overfeed if they are given the chance. It might not eat if its too cold as well

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! Yup, a little chubby, but not too horrible. I’d just keep 1 or 2 in the tank so they are there, but it isnt necessary

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! Well... many people replied to my original message saying my scorpion was overweight or "chubby"...
And... she did finally begin eating again. But, I found out the reason she was "chubby" - SHE WAS PREGNANT. And no one here even mentioned that may be a possibility.
She has been in her burrow since she had them (6 days ago), so I’m not sure how many she had - but I know it is at least 3.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do now? Do I do anything different to care for her and the babies? When do you separate the babies from the mom? etc. etc.
Thanks.

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! congrats i would of said she could be pregnant but i aint on here that often anynmore, anyway basically the mum will look after the babies for a while now when they start getting off her and roaming around thats when you should seperate and they will need a slightly higher humidity until they harden up, for more help come to http://scorpionforum.darkbb.com/index.htm theres always some one on that forum the scorpion one here has virtually no members anymore, any way try that website theres alot of us there so yeah come join

Hasn’t eaten in 2 months! Hes right seperate them when the babies start to wonder off by themselves and don’t really go back on mom’s back. I have a tanzanian long claw (Iomachus politus) scorpion that had babies and that’s roughly when I separated them.
