 Just some Shizz.

I forgot my pass and shizz so i had to change my name on this site, older name was Job For A Cowboy.

Anyways i had a Emp Scorpling about six months ago which i bought from a pet store who died, i anounced it on here and tried helping it when i realised it was ill. I then thought i wasn’t capable of keeping anymore Scorpions since the death of Cyrax.

My parents told me to try again, even though i was scared to try again i did so. I got another Scorpling from the same pet store (probs brother to Cyrax).
This one is called Liqour. He is still alive and well, eating like anything! I was surprised when it was actually eating because Cyrax didn’t eat at all!
I’ve had Liqour for just less than 6 months now and he’s still tiny as anything but i know he’s eating.

Today i bought another Emp (Bossk), this time something alot larger in size.
The larger one seems to have adapted well already and is exploring and eating already, i was impressed instantly.

Liqour. Is he still too small for his size? I thought he would of gotten alot bigger by now :S

Just to check, is it okay to use tissue as a water supply for them? I saw this used in the pet shop and so used it on my own all soaked up for them to drink from. I Still mist the tanks too.

What Kind Of Substrate do you have on? In My Opinion you should Put Him On some Eco-earth (Coco Fiber) Stuff. How Many Molts has Liquor gone through? What temperature are they at and what is their humidity? As Long As Liquor is eating and molting regularly I wouldn’t be worried. By any chance are you keeping them together? If so there is always a small chance the bigger one will eat the smaller one. Just a heads up.

i think it died from over eating because the white lines on its back and side also mean it is full and they do over eat so next time put atleast 4 crickets every 2 weeks.thats wat i do with mine and someone said it looked healthy so try that.

The substrate i am using is called Chipsi Extra. I live in the UK and i don’t think it’s too easy getting hold of Eco Earth but i will dig around a few decent pet stores and see what i can find.

I do not measure the temp or humidity in my tanks but both tanks have a heat mat supporting on a side of them and i spray the tank with luke warm water daily.

How do you measure humitidy?

I never saw Cyrax eat at all so i don’t think that was the reason he died.

And yeah i have two tanks for them as didn’t want them to eat one another ect.

Do they look healthy from the pictures?

Any tips? :)

Oh and i’ve never seen Liqour (Baby Scorpion) molt.

Is that odd? Should i be expecting anything?

The pictures are recent so if they’re are any signs that he is molting would be good news ect

You Don’t Really Need To have Something The measures humidity, Just make sure the substrate is damp and the air in the cage feels moist.. Which is way I recommend Some sort of eco-earth or coco-fiber.

Also Your Baby. Above His stinger (Forgive me for not knowing the name) Is it white or tan-ish. Or is it dark brown? If it’s dark Brown he will not grow any more nor will he molt. If it’s light you’ll be expecting a molt. But be careful though, If their cage isn’t humid enough he my not molt properly.
By The Pictures they look fine, But differently try to find some Coco-Fiber (Coco Fiber is the same as Eco-earth Just different Brands) and get that humidity up! :) Before They Molt They Get Real Big and look like they’re going to pop. But Then again I’ve only dealt with an Adult scorpion, But I’m assuming they do the same as Tarantulas. So your’s may have molted before you got him.

KiruSama, scorpions do not do the same as tarantulas, tarantulas lie on there back when they molt scorpions do not!!!!

Oh I know that, I Meant The Fact the Tarantula’s get so big they look Like they’re going to pop, I Believe scorpions do the Same (As Far as Getting all Big Before Molting). Sorry for the confusion I know Scorpions don’t lie on their back while molting.

I took a better picture of Liqour.

i think his tail is white, so i should be expecting a molt, wow my first one!

Is he overweight or is that the molting do you think?



Any signs of Molting i should be looking for?

They get all big and fat before they molt so you’ll probably be getting one soon! The only sign of molting that I know of is that they get big.

Just raise the humidity up a bit and you should be fine! :)
