Thinking on Getting a new addition for my collection I would like information

Hello, I’m interested in getting a new scorpion, I have and Emperor scorpion and three tarantulas now, but i would like to expand my collection. I was wanting information about African Flat Rocks, African Tri-Colored burrowing scorpions, and Arizona desert hairy. I been looking for info around the net, but every site gives different info on each of these scorpions.

Tri-color burrowing scorp info is pretty scattered, so I’m not too sure on that one. I can find info on the flat rock, but not right now. For the Desert Hairy, keep the tank very dry and with temperatures around 75-85 degrees F. I think a good temp is 78/80 degrees F. For the substrate, you can just use play sand, but that can’t hold any burrows, so it’s good to mix it 70% playsand and 30% topsoil for a more stable burrowing substrate. About 6 inches of substrate is good for burrowing purposes. Offer the scorpion a water dish about once a month and you can lightly mist a corner of the tank once a month too. These are very active scorpions that love to burrow and they use their stingers often, so they’re pretty awesome. The humidity by the way should be around 40-50%. Make sure this is correct because they can develop mycosis which can be fatal.

A little info on the flatrock is that they are pretty docile scorpions, so i’d go with the desert hairy if you wish for an active scorpion.

Thank you Duall, I Really appriciate the information. I also have heard that the Desert Hairy is a very active species. I’m leaning towards the Desert Hairy or the tri-colored scorpion if i do find one could you give me infomation on the tri-colored burrowing scorpion.

Thankyou you have been a huge help
