 Emperor scorpion molting?`

How can I tell when my emperor is molting, and actually... what is molting? Like, what happens when your scorpion molts, how do I know that my scorpion is molting? What do I look for? What do I do while she’s molting?

I basically need to know everything there is about molting because i’m confused big time on what it is.

Thanks

Molting is the process in which scorpions shed their exoskeleton. When they do this, they grow a bit larger each time. They usually molt 6 or 7 times within their lifetime. During molting, it’s good to have the temperature higher and the humidity higher to help them have a successful molt. Basically, the more well fed your scorpion is and the better the conditions are, the more likely and often it will molt. During molting, they will become extremely vulnerable. They won’t be doing anything else but trying to get out of their old exoskeleton. After the molt, their bodies will be very soft. It will take a while for their new exoskeleton to become hard.

You will know it’s going to molt when it’s really fat. But that could also mean it has just eaten too much. Before a molt, the scorpion will not eat or move a lot. When she’s molting, just keep the temperature at 80-85 degrees F and have the humidity at like 75-80%.
If your scorpion has a white tail, it’s still young and will molt several times.
If it has a creamy yellow tail, it will molt once or twice before adulthood.
If it has a red/brown tail, it is an adult and won’t molt anymore.

Check this site out, awesome molting video:
