 Sick or upset bearded???

up until about a month ago my bearded was happy, active, ate enought for 2 and now he is sluggish, dark black beard 24/7 and wont eat crickets, mealy worms or even veggies!!! This behavior started the same time I got my kitten, zavior. I’m trying to figure out if he’s sick or just really really mad. He’s very finicky - i mean if i ad one thing to his cage or take something out he wont eat for a week. But, im starting to get concerned. Any suggestions on what might be causing this odd behavior would be appreciated. Im calling the vet 2mrrw but thought i could get some helpful hints.

If you don’t mind me asking some questions...
How old is your dragon?
What is the substrate the heat of the tank?

Also don’t feed him mealworms, the shell is too hard and may cause impaction. Going to the vet is the right thing, you should get an annual check up for all your reptiles to help assure nothing serious is wrong.

All in all...the black beard does sound normal, but i’m not really there to see it.

 Sick or upset bearded???

hi,
peanut turned 2 in september ive had hime since then, his tank tempeture is around 80 - 85% sometimes hotter depending on the weather and how much sun has entered my apartment. i use a pebble sand - no calci sand or mulch. The black under does sound normal except for the fact that up until now it has only turned this dark when he is scared or shedding and if i put him in his favorite spot in the living room it would go away within 20 minutes. He’s been solid black for about 2 weeks straight and has no energy. The mealworms i would give him as a treat only and thats why im so concerned because he loves them - and now he could just care less.

I had peanut checked in summer with my iguana, louie, and at that point got a clean bill of health. I clld the vet today and get an appt until nesxt week so im hoping he’ll be ok until then. Any suggestions in the meantime??

 Sick or upset bearded???

I have a bearded dragon and i actually just had an experience similiar to yours. i was feeding my pet ball python (kah) in a clear see-through tub in the middle of my room and all of a sudden my beardy started freaking out. his beard and random parts of his body turned black and he started jumping all around his tank and trying to get out. and when i tried to feed him mealworms (which he also loves) he owuldn’t eat them. then i picked up the tub that my snake was in and put it in my closet so my beardy wouldn’t see it and he was pretty much instantly better. he ate the mealworms straight from my hand and got all his color back. so i think he was scared of my snake. so in your case i would guess that maybe yours is freaking out because of the new cat you said that you got.
