Post count under the name
on other forums, i will more likely take advice form people with a higher count... because half the time, some one who’s just starting, will give out wrong info.. them someone will correct them. sometimes you will get newbs, and they know everything... i hope that makes sense. |

This idea has been brought to me a few times and I have seen it done on other sites. Unfortunately a post count doesn’t make someones advice more beneficial. We have a lot of people that are starting out that post a lot of questions and post in other threads making their count higher. In contrast we have members that don’t post as often, but may have more experience then some others that would have a high post count. Then comes the main problem...people can just keep posting just to build up their count and look more as a reliable source of information. I visit the occasional exercise and fitness sites, being that is another hobby of mine, and there are definitely people with high post counts that know very little about working out and dieting. So post counts are definitely not going to display experience. I have thought of other ways, but all seem to not show any consistency to separate a beginner from the experienced. Today it seems if you read a few websites and own a reptile for 3 months you can be a self-proclaimed expert. I guess the best thing we can do is back up good information that is given on a thread.
