Schneider’s Skinks r they male and female... did they have eggs yet? do they live in harmony most of the time? i really miss my Sleepyhead...... he passed away when i went down stairs to make a sandwhich.... my cat came in my room... tilted the 120 watt lamp. and ripped like SHREDDED the top of the enclosure ( which was PRETTY sturdy) set the cage on fire... and when i came up with my sandwhich to my room... my Sleepyhead was in her mouth and the cage and MY room was on fire.... i slapped the cat cause that was the only way to get my schneider skink out her mouth and IMMEDIATLY settled the fire and put some medicine on the bitten areas.. cats have alot of bacteria on their teeth and he got infected.... sadly she bit him 2 times and scratched him all over his back.. she punctured really deep wounds on the 2 sides of him.... it was REALLY late.... and the only thing i could do was put her under a heat lamp and on top of the heater.. which was a bit warm for the night...... i put a blanket on top of her.. she tried to get out the box( but it had MANY holes on it so she could breathe.... she passed away the next morning.. it was last year... and i still have her large 40 gallon cage and stuff..... i miss her SOOO dearly.... she would like to run around her cage.....catch her crickets... run on my bed, and walk in my hair... she liked to explore ALOT.... and liked to sit and look out the window... she was such a good friend for years..

Schneider’s Skinks I’m not going to lie, that story pretty much made me cry. That’s so sad I’m really sorry for your loss. Skinks are such good companions! My skinks also climb through my hair :) They get along great because they came in the same batch, and I’m pretty sure they’re male and female, but no they haven’t laid any eggs yet. I want them to though! You should definitely get another skink :)

Schneider’s Skinks I don’t think they really mind when you handle them as long as you do it when they’re active and not when they’re sleepy. How did the other one pass? Was it older?
