 Need some help...

Hey everyone,

Hershal almost never comes out from under his Carefresh.

I went from the Care fresh to all over his cage, from end to to end. Know the Care fresh is only on one side, about two inches. He still does not come out...

I know it is not brumation! I have no clue...

Yesterday was the first day in about one week and four day that he has been out on his basking slate...

What can I do?

Should I take out ALL the Care fresh and just let him have reptile carpet? What to do, what to do?

Please help, I want to see my bay out and about, I love seeing him!

Thanks you!

Dont take away his substrate; if he wants to hide, he wants to hide. Its extremely cruel to stop him from doing so just because you want to see him all the time.

My male spends a lot of the day hiding and I dont see him much. My female is usually out and about during the day. Maybe its the time of year...or maybe hes just lazy, lol. If youre not at home during the day (at school or something) you may just be missing his active periods.

Granted, I have a completely different kind of skink, but mine stays hidden and burrowed most of the time . . . I only catch him out basking whan he doesn’t think I’m around . . . I wouldn’t take away the carefresh . . . it will most likely stress him out . . . just my 2 cents . . . good luck with him . .. how’s Pink the Water Dragon? :)
