 Nail cliping?

hi, i am going to adopt a blue tonged skink and i was wundering if they needed there nails cliped.

If their nails are long, they need clipped. Pretty much like every other animal kept in captivity. now before you go clipping, please become familiar with the anatomy of reptile nails and know where you should be cutting.

Also provide some rocks(like slate or a large rock) for climbing and rubbing down their nails. I use a reg, nail scissors and clip the very ends about four times a year. BUT you must be very careful not to cut them if they move. I never do all four feet in one sitting, especially when he was young because they don’t want to be restrained that long. Just take it slow and very careful. You can also opt to file their nails with a nail file instead of cut. But having a rock to climb on will help. I know they are more buriers than climbers, but they all like to explore some. It shouldn’t be too high but more long. It could be used for basking, too.
