7" or less skink?
Anybody know of any skinks that have a max average length of 7in? I have a 48inL x 20inH x 12.5inW tank and need a commonly known skink that only gets about 7in long so said skink has amble room to move around. 7.5in or 8in is okay too, but no more! Thank you, post any info you know about the skink you’re poting about too, if you can. Thank you ;) Also, if I get a pair (male + female) and always keep them together, is that okay? Because I thought they were kept sepperate until mating was intentional. If they’re always together will they keep mating constantly? Will they still only mate about once a year? Is it okay to keep them together at all times?

7" or less skink? A tank that big would hold a larger skink than seven inches. Skinks tend to look shorter than they are. You could keep Oscellated skinks or some kind of sun skink. There are lots of little skinks, it is more a matter of what is available in your area. I keep my skinks together in colonies and they do fine. They like to sun themselves as a group. You could even add a couple of Gekkos to the tank. It will be far more interesting to watch and I think, more interesting for the lizzards.
These are a couple of Golden Skinks sunning themselves (a father and daughter)

I now have five adults in the tank and they all gather together under the lights.
Skinks seem to like each other. You do need at least one female for every male. They don’t breed all the time. Gestation is nine weeks and the babies take a long time to mature. The parents do not hurt them and you can raise them in the tank they were born in.

7" or less skink? Sand skinks are not too big. You could keep a pair in the size of tank you have. You would need a lot of sand. They are really interesting skinks and they "swim" through the sand. You would need to look up a detailed care sheet about temperature and feeding. I know they need part of the tank to have moisture. It is tricky to give them water since they wouldn’t drink from an open water dish. If you could find a pair they would be amazing to have. I have only seen them once and I still regret not buying them on the spot. You could probably house them with some kind of desert gekko. I like comunity tanks. They are always interesting and active.
