PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION?
Hi! I just recently adopted 2 female guinea pigs from a lady who was moving they are both fairly young(6 months?) and i think that one of them might be pregnant. She has two fairly large egg shaped buldges before her hips and when i put my hands aroung them it seems like the babies kick and squirm in her. She eats and drinks quiet a bit and is pretty lazy and isnt as active as the other female. she sort of sleeps and rests a lot. So with all these signs i was wondering if any one knows how longer until shes going to give birth.????
thnak you so much and other advice would be a big help!:)
( srry i couldnt upload pics)

PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION? Depending on when she first became pregnant (definitely sounds like it) anywhere from 59 to 73 days. It will most likely be much shorter for her since she seems to be quite far along.

PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION? You’re welcome. Just remember that it’s best that she be under seven months old before giving birth.

PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION? Make sure you have her on a high quality diet. What brand of pellets are you feeding and what type of hay? You may want to separate her from the other pig because the pregnant/baby pigs need a higher fat and richer diet than the other female.
How do you think she got pregnant? Can you ask the previous owner? I ask because if a male was put into the cage with them, chances are that the second female is pregnant as well.
Good luck and keep the questions coming!

PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION? Im not sure what brand because i only got them 4 days ago. so the lady didnt tell me much. Ya i was wondering the same thing and im pretty sure the other female isnt pregnant becaues she is not showing any of the signs and she isnt very big. The lady told me thst the black one(pregnant one) she got at a petsmart, and has had it for 4 months. and the other one she just got from a local pet store a month and a half ago. and im positive the ohtre one is a girl. I was thinking maybe she went on vacation and got someone to look after her gp’s and they had a male guinea pig, or she was watching someones elses male guinea pig and thought well maybe he will get along with mine so i dunno really how it happened. just geussing. anyways thanks again for all ur help!

PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION? Hmm...a mystery! Well you should have Oxbow formula if you can find it at your pet store, otherwise use Mazuri. Most guinea pig food is crap, lol.
For Oxbow, you want the young or active formula for the pregnant mom and babies, and the adult formula for the second female. Make sure you have both timothy and alfalfa hay, timothy for the non pregnant one and alfalfa for the pregnant one/the babies.
Have you ever had pig babies? They are born with their eyes open and walking around covered in fur! SUCH cute babies, lol.

PREGNANT gUINEA pIG qUESTION? place your finger in front of her genitals, feel for the hard boney bump, 24-48 hours before she will birth this will open up to allow the babies to be born, once it is approx 1 finger tip width apart birth should be around 24-48 hours away. good luck with your minipigs. oh and i would guess the other gp is a boar if she isnt preg, take her to a vets and get it 100% checked as if she is a he he will mate your sow again as soon as the babies are born-very bad for mum. also, once the babies are 3 weeks old you must remove any baby boars or they can and will impregnate mum and sisters.
