 Best way to introduce 2 male chinchillas?

I already have a male thats 8months and a just bought a male thats about 1 year. Would it be better to try a younger male?

there is some growling and trying to bite going on. What would you suggest? (they are in 2 separate cages right now.)

you are positive they are both male corect? sometimes they look very similar b/c they both have cones that look like penises

ok you will want to quarenteen the new one for at least 30 days so they can get used to new srounding without the stress of the other one

then start housing them in the same room with cages next to each other for at least a week

then start introducing them during out of cage playtime

if it al goes well after about 4-5 play sessions try cleaning the permanant home and puting new stuff in

do this early in the day when they will less active

stay home all day to make sure they get along ok in the cage

how big is the cage?permanent one?

also keep in mind they may NEVER get along and you may have to keep them seperate forever so do not get rid of the old cage

also i dont think age will make much of a difference

let me know if you have any other questions about chinchillas

also what kind of food are they eating? make sure to gradually switch the new one to your brand of food over the month he is in quarenteen

actually if you want just give me a rndown of everything you feed/ have in the cage (just want to make sure everything is safe so you have your chinies for a long time)

After gradually introducing them like Lovetheleo said above, you may be able to keep them housed together after a bit of time. If the other chinchilla is new, you should quarantine him for a month or so to ensure he doesn’t have anything he can give to your other chinchilla.
