 Can hamsters or mice(or gerbils) live in...

can rodents (not including rats or other huge ones ) live in an aquiriam as long as its bigger then a 10 gallon and it has wire on top instead of plastic? (just wondering)

well, some say yes some say no the way i look at it is yes they can but no its not a good idea. they get poor ventilation which can cause health problems. so a wire cage is best. plastic cages suck and break easily. they can chew through it as well. hope this helps

The min. for a pair of gerbils is 10 gal
for a hamster i would say 10-20 gal
for mice it depeds on species

remebber bigger is always better

The best compromise is to use a ten or 20 gal tank and use cage toppers, so they can get up into the wire part and get good ventilation but still be able to burrow in deep bedding that you can put into an aquarium. It also depends on where you live. In Seattle, we have very mild weather/temperatures so it would be more acceptable to use a 20 long tank for a small animal than if you lived in Southern California or Texas, for example.

Just see what works best for you.

i sort of meant was if i can use an aquiriam as long as it has wire toping(sort of what dragon girl ment so sorry if i was confusing!
