 Dumbos or reguler?

there is no difference except the hair

hairless rats get colder easier and they can get scratched easier

they also tend to be more allergic to bedding i think

 Dumbos or reguler?

"Dumbo" refers to the position of the ears. Ears that stand straight up are standard, and ears that are larger and sit on the side are dumbo. A dumbo eared rat can have any type of fur or coloring, the genes are not connected.

A hairless rat can be a dumbo rat or not. If you were referring to hairless rats, then yes, they get colder more easily and are more prone to having allergies. In my opinion, hairless rats shouldn’t be bred on purpose because they have more particular needs that are not always met by owners.

Anyway, there is absolutely no difference in personality or health between a dumbo or standard eared rat. In my opinion, dumbo ears are cuter, but that’s your decision : )

 Dumbos or reguler?

Lol! They certainly are adorable. This will always be one of my favorite pictures lol.

I don’t know for sure, and I didn’t hear from a reliable source (just some comments on youtube videos) but some people were saying dumbos don’t hear quite as well. If it’s really a concern I’m sure you could easily research it and find out more info on whether or not it is true and just how bad it is.
Personally I don’t think there is a difference, and if there is it’s very slight. I’ve got a standard and dumbo and both have the same reactions to noises, but I don’t really have a right to say whether or not it’s true for sure because I’ve never done tests and I don’t have enough rats to test that theory with lol. But I thought I’d mention what I had heard.
