 Update on the rabbits! =D

Clearly i havnt been on this for a while, but i thought i would give you all an update on the rabbits that i raised. K so pretty much on April 28 2008, my two rabbits had a unwanted litter of 5, named zubbin, ashes, sprite, theodoor, and nugget.(nugget being the runt) At first i had no sweet clue how to care for them, but thanks to the help of all you guys, they where all raised up great, and even the runt, who was half the size as the rest lived

As they got older, things just got harder though, i was running outa cages, so i had someone build me a nice big cage

When the rabbits got old enough we got the genders checked onyl to find out all the babies where males (poor mother) 2 of the rabbits found homes, the dad lives in his new cage, and two of the males get along so they live together, the other is getting a new cage soon, as for the mother she lives alone happily.
We jhave just started to build a barn made for the rabbits, and ill post pics when it is done. The father rabbit Salsa is being showed in 4H. and has got 2 secound place ribbons and 2 third place ribbons, out of 2 rabbits shows, thank you all so much for everything =D

They are beautiful, I’m so glad they all turned out healthy and you finally figured out your caging, lol.

Good luck with the buns, is the dad pure bred? Maybe you should get a female of the same breed : )

Take pics of the barn when you are done!! I’d love to have some property when I’m older and build a rabbit sanctuary for (spayed/neutered) feral rabbits, which is basically a huge very securely fenced area with a bunch of insulated barns : )

It could be a number of different problems. If it’s a male, I would guess a urinary tract or kidney infection, these cause animals to pee a lot and therefore crave more water.

My guess is that he is unaltered, neutering prevents this problem almost 100%. He’ll need to go to a vet, if it is an infection he’ll need antibiotics and he should be separated from the rest of the group and brough inside asap where you can monitor his urine output, food intake, etc. easily and so he isn’t subjected to temperature changes that could lower his immune system.

Good luck!
