Ant invasion in my rats’ cage!

Gahhh. Ants EVERYWHERE. How do I fix it without changing the substrate every day?

Completely clean out the cage and put new food and substrate in it . Then you can get ant traps to put by the cage and a two sided sticky tape to put around the entire top of the cage (on the out side ). That should work.

i put a fine layer of white vinegar on the window sills and base of the doors. they don’t cross over it. it’ll keep new ones out at least.

That’s a good idea . I would follow the trail of ants and find out where they are coming from and do away with the nest or they will just go somewhere else in your house . The larger carpenter ants can do some real damage to the house .
