Temps? & stinky cages ? That sounds a bit warm to me...what kind of rodents exactly? And are you sure you meant 40? That’s a big change lol. And stinky cage depends on what kind of bedding, what kind of ventilation, how often it is cleaned/spot cleaned, and the number of inhabitants. The cleaner the cage, the less smell there will be, especially in a hot room.

Temps? & stinky cages ? i beleive if i remember from a previous post that she is planning on keeping whatever she decides to get outside on her porch
the answer to your question is no nothing can live outside on the porch in a tank especially they will cook like in an oven

Temps? & stinky cages ? it would be in the shade and it 85 in the shade during the day in the summer and 40 at night in the winter if you were confused i was checking the high and low temps to see if they were ok in the winter i could always bring it in at night. i’m also checking because my sister holly is moving down with us and my dad said she could keep frank (her guinea pig) if he stays outside. I just wanted to make sure he’d be okay hes in a wire rabbit cage type thing

Temps? & stinky cages ? well IMO 85 would be a bit hot but as long as you put the cage in a well ventilated area with plenty of water and have healthy rodents to begin with you should do fine tho I think 40 is way to cold for them to be in (any rodent really) and in my experience domestic/caged rodents dont do too well outside, I have seen people do guinea pigs just find outside but they had a huge well built house/pen I am not sure how they would do in a regular cage, but for rats/mice I wouldnt put have them outside at all for 1 they dont weather well and for 2 you have to worry about the wild mice/rats getting into their cage or even pooing on top of it and giving your guys a disease not to mention the fact that if they escape the odds of finding them are slim....

Temps? & stinky cages ? 85 is still too hot. you run the risk of heat stroke. shade or not. i don’t let my animal temps go over 72. and i don’t let them go below 60. you shouldn’t keep it outside. besides wild animals may hurt it or someone can hurt or steal it.

Temps? & stinky cages ? Why would they have to stay outside at all? There’s no point if you’re going to just keep the animal outside.

Temps? & stinky cages ? i’m sorry if it seems rude, but i have to agree with missskythegecko. animals especially cavies and other small mammals shouldn’t be outside. i wouldn’t do it at all, but especially not in a normal cage. anything can bite or hurt him.

Temps? & stinky cages ? hmm. then i guess at least that isn’t a danger. i’d still not do it but watch his temps a lot. especially at night. they shouldn’t go under 60 at the lowest. just be very careful. a cold can turn to pneumonia REALLY fast.

Temps? & stinky cages ? he won’t be out there very long because once my sister can get an apartment she’ll move there obviously. If he gets over heated and everything he can come in just my mom doesn’t want stinky cages in the house.

Temps? & stinky cages ? if you clean the side where the hay falls from his hay feeder daily that usually keeps smell down, since it STINKS when peed on.
