 Rat With RI Update!

The medicine seems to have helped Rikka. She’s still not eager about taking food, but if you leave it in her cage overnight she’s eat every last drop. Her breathing is still a little loud, but it clear and steady. She’s almost completely ceased sneezing. I’ve finally decided to put her back with the colony. They’re being very friendly and grooming her gently and taking care of her so far. They share their food with her and one of them, Paprika, even brings her food! If something goes wrong and she gets worse and infects the other, I have some amoxi capsules handy along with echinacea which I give them daily.

Is this all okay?

My bad. About an hour after I put her in she started to sneeze again. I’ve taken her out once again. She’s getting better, though.

if you wanna put her back maybe wait a little longer if she can’t handle it yet but when you do, use paper towel or napkins as bedding and change it daily. cheap, dust free, and simple. things like carefresh, wood shavings, and other dusty beddings are most likely going to upset her breathing now. you can have supervised play times with the colony daily or every other day if her health allows. and it also helps keep reintroduction to the cagemates simple.

Her health is pretty good, really. Her breathing it still loud, but it’s steady and clear. She’s active again and bright eyes and curious. She’s starting to get some of her old personality back. She was looking well this morning so I decided to test her so I stuck my finger through the bar and she bit it really hard. She always used to do that before she got sick. I’m so excited for her. She looks so much better.

And I just found out that my blue rat is pregnant! I’m really excited because I think she’s close.
