Rats will come to you if you call them. Also you can teach them tricks like you would a dog. I taught mine to walk on two feet. Rats respond differently to people. Hamsters act the same to everybody, and dont get attatched to one person in particular. Rats are like dogs in almost every way. I have one rat who is a total mama’s boy, and only likes me. He ignores most other people...LOL. Another one of my rats loves everyone BUT me... its kind of frustrating at times. If you have a rat you will notice their funny and smart antics. One of my rats wanted to get down on my floor from my bed. I thought there was no way down, but my clever rattie wedged himself in between the wall and my bed, braced himself against the wall, and slid down like james bond would have. And by the way, my betta fish is smarter than a hamster. Hamsters are cute but they are the most unintellegent mammal out there.
