Starter T for Me???? Ok I want to get a turantula but I don’t know what one to get... I’ve never had spiders before(besides the ones in the corner of my ceiling) and i’m actually kinda scared of them... I wanna face my fears..lol.... Can someone help me out with picking one that is easy to care for and one that has normally a good temperment???......And i want it to be med-lrg size cause for some reason its the small ones that scare the hell outta me......
Thanks

Starter T for Me???? Try either, G.Rosea, G.Aureostriata, B.Smithi, or A.Avicularia. Just keep in mind, Avicularia species require a higher humidity, yet need good ventilation.

Starter T for Me???? keep in mind Avics can be pretty quick and flighty but if it’s arboreal I love it.

Starter T for Me???? I am new to tarantula keeping also, and got one for the same reason; to get over my fear of spiders. I just picked up a b.smithi, mainly because of their appearance. Of the ones mentioned above, they are all fairly docile and easy to keep. I had a hard time picking between the starter T’s, but it came down to longevity and appearance really. My next one will likely be a rosea. I simply chose the smithi because they have more color.
Mine seems to be relatively calm and I have held it for a few short periods.

Starter T for Me???? Go with a Grammostola Rosea. They are brown to various reds. They are very cheap to buy. You can purchase one from a pet store for some 30 dollars. Keep in mind that a larger one will be worth less, but not live as long. They are Very easy to look after. Keep a log in there, with normal bedding, and a clean water dish and they are very happy campers. Feed them a cricket around 2 times a week and there you have it :).
