I have just become a huge fan of the P. irminia (pictured below). I recieved a large order for my buddy and myself, and my buddy ordered a P. irminia, and now I cannot stop thinking about it, I am pretty sure I might just be in love! I am a huge fan of these guys and although they are lightning fast, if you understand that it is a display pet only, you will be fine.

And again I dont recommend doing this! I understand I am contradicting a post I just made in another thread, however again same rule... handle once, and let it be.

Enjoy,

Rob

It depends on what you’re looking for. Are you looking for another docile, handleable pet? Or are you looking for a flashy display pet? G. pulchra and B. smithi are generally regarded as easy tarantulas, and I’ve had great luck with A. avicularia and A. versicolor for handleability. H. lividum and ornamentals are great display spiders, but I wouldn’t recommend holding them. (And you should be aware that H. lividum hole up and stay underground about 90% of the time.)

Rob, you’re still making me jealous with that gorgeous irminia.

I have found this to be true, my Lividum stays in his burrow about 90% of the time and the other 10% the light’s off. the most i see of him is his legs slightly protruding from of the entrance to his burrow when i turn the light on. Then he disappears again until i turn it off.
I spend most of my time in the dark, just so i know he’s happy.

I took this pic on the second night and i haven’t seen him out since.
