I can’t speak for personal experience with the Salmon pink, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a beginner’s tarantula. It’s a very large and aggressive tarantula, which probably wouldn’t be the best choice for you.

I’ve had both B. smithi and A. versicolor, and both were easy to keep. B. smithi has lower humidity requirements than A. versicolor, but it’s really not that difficult to mist the tank once a day. Pink toes are easy in general, and they make webbed tunnels (are arboreals).

Actually ETM L.parahybana are fairly good. Get big, don’t seem to kick hairs much and they grow fairly quick. My big girl who is now around 7.5"(molted about a week ago) has to be my favorite NW T. My G.rosea gives more threats and slaps then this girl.

Pre-molt

Her molt

Wow, that’s a big T there, Moniter guy. She’s beautiful! And thanks for clarifying, all I knew was that they were listed as an aggressive species, so I was mentally comparing them to my H. lividum.

Lol no problem, I sold my female H.Lividum if I had to compare the 2 it would be satan(lividum) vs a teddy bear(lp), when I had to pack my lividum she ran up my arm and decided to give threats on the top of my head, my LP on the other hand rarely even kicks hairs. I will try and get some pictures of her in a bit since she is out more and freshly molted.

That sounds like my first Avic story, haha. So much fun.

Like once, after about a month she escaped and was gone for over a day.. I set up a nice heated and humid spot hoping she’d home in on it and two days later my girlfriend called me at work STILL AS EVER ON THE BED saying "COME HOME, She’s sitting on the floor, I can see her!!!" So I drove home as fast as I could (left work mid-day, thanks to managing the exotic department in pet-store, they understood) and put her back in her home. She was bundles of fun and so many stories, I wish I still had her. I think it’s time for another!
