So I thought that my Rosie was getting ready to molt because she dug out nearly all of her hideout, then started webbing it up like she has done the last two times she’s molted since I got her. After leaving a small hole in the entry of the hideout, she left it and then excavated the whole are outside of it making this crater. She ate no more than a week before she started this (about a week ago), so it doesn’t seem like she’d be molting. She left this mound of dirt outside her hide, its kinda funny looking. Is this just renovations T-style?

Though a picture can’t get the full crater-look that it is, I got a couple to show her spring cleaning madness. Is there really any reason anyone can think of her doing this other than just burrowing a new home? It was just kinda random, and she’s still eating so I doubt she’ll molt.

Also on top of that, I was just wondering what’s a good arboreal T to have? Advanced to keep or not, just wondering. I had an avic. avic. for a while but she died :( but I loved having the arboreal style. What’s the best way to feed them anyway? Like to make sure that they eat the food? Probably a silly question to ask, I usually just put the cricket on the stump at the bottom and kinda pushed in the upward direction towards my T.. is there a better way?

It’s normal for tarantulas to do some remodeling. My A. seemanni constantly digs new holes and moves her water dish around.

Avics are a personal favorite of mine. I’ll have to get another Antilles pinktoe some day. I always just tossed the crickets in the tank and the T would go down and get them that evening.

First off, thanks for the reply :D

Secondly, is there any particular Avic that is a personal favorite that you would recommend??

And that’s awesome that they can find the food, that was my biggest concern having the pink toe is that I wasn’t sure if she was getting the food or not.. I figured they would make a home in her "tree" so I usually took her out and fed her in a separate container like a snake y’know, doubtfully good for her but I got to make sure she ate.. but if that’s the case, I definitely want to get a new Avic and put use to my 10gal and stump branch thing..

I’m totally psyched to get another. Such an addiction. I wish the arachnid community was bigger, everyone should get over the "creepy spider" phobia and at least hold a Rosie :P
