Chilean Rose Tarantula Hi, I’m considering the acquisition of a Chilean Rose tarantula. I’ve checked various care sheets on the net, and only one mentionned about feeding quantities and frequency. I’d be glad if someone could provide me with that information. Also, any site/book recommendation would be great.

Chilean Rose Tarantula Depends on the size of the spider. If it is full grown, only about 3 large crickets a week. One every other day.

Chilean Rose Tarantula
Mine eats gets 6 crickets a week and only eats about 4 of them. She is very docile and doesn’t move around alot. She is in a 10 gallon tank with the bedding made of crushed wal-nut shells for spiders. She sheds her skin I am told about once every 6 months during which she looks like she is dead or dieing. I have only seen her do it one time. Very creepy. She likes to be petted but not held. You can kill her by dropping her 1 inch from the ground. They are very fragile. I reccommend a google search. It has been very helpful for me. I have found alot of information that seams to match up. Good luck. I recommend them. Thong

Chilean Rose Tarantula Okay every G. rosea is different, but I would think if you go with crickets then anywhere from 4-6 large crickets if it is full size. If you use meal worms then anywhere from 6-7.
for good solid information I would suggest going to venomlist.com.
