 New Emeralds!

Hey all! I just got a pair of adult swifts for valentines day. I think they’re about 2 years old. Just a few questions,

first off what size tank is best for them, I have them in a 24"x12"x18" at the mo, which I think is too small, we’re goin to build a viv stack in the next week or so I’d like an idea of what size would be good ( in inches would be great cz I’m from the UK and don’t understand gallons!!

Also, they’re both pretty flighty, the female will let me stroke her but the make won’t let me near him. I have no problem with that as I know they’re better display animals, but I was wondering if anyone has any tips on catching them when I need to clean them out?

And finally, lol, I think my female is pregnant, shes pretty damn fat, isn’t eating much and just basks all day! Does this sound like the activities of a pregnant girlie??

I’ll try and get some pics up when I figure out how to use this thing!

Cheers for any help!

Kate

Well, how big are your swifts because I have a 2 1/2inch sized swift so for 1 baby swift, a 17inch by 12inch tank would be good so for two adults I’m guessing a 30inch by 15inch would be good.

Plus, to catch them, I’d say to maybe get a net or just try your hand. Or get him in a corner and scoop him up.

Also, for the female, she sounds pregnant but, try to pick her up or tuch her belly and if she lets you, she’s not pregnant.

I hope this information helps!!!
