 New Tadpoles

Just yesterday I got three new tadpoles, and their all Leopard Frog Tadpoles. (sorry if some of the pictures are blured)

(below) This is Marble, I’ve tried to measure him and came out as 1 inch (i couldn’t take a picture with the ruler, sorry) and he is the most "adventurous".

(Below) This is Ekan (I don’t know why, but I love that name :) ) He is a bit smaller then Marble and Mel and he is very very shy. And since he is shy, this is the best picture i could get.

(Below) And this is Mel, he is the largest of the three. I’ve tried to get a picture of the measurements especially for this big guy, but failed. He is 2 1/2 inches long and he’s like the leader to Marble and Ekan. (in the picture, the water isn’t that low, he is just in the sloped area in the tank.)

And a question. Can tadpoles have iceberg lettuce?

Great looking tadpoles! I was wondering where did you get them? I would love to get a few.

I got them from this website : http://livingaquatic.com/ (you’ll need to look it up)

They cost $1.99 for one tadpole and i think $8 for S&H.

Their worth the money, their happy all the time :)

Iceberg lettuce has no nutritional value, it’s basically just water in the form of food, if that makes any sense. Go for romain lettuce, it’s way healthier. There are also other foods like fish flakes, pelleted food, algea disks, etc.

Ok thanks, I’ve been feeding them a couple algae disks in the past few days (2) and some pelleted food. I’ll try some fish flakes. We also (just yesterday) bought some Romain Lettuce, i’ll boil and freeze that :)

Why can’t you keep an adult? Ive kept adult frogs, and as long as you take care of them, they are alright

i wouldn’t take an adult frog from the wild

a toadlet yes, but not frog, it may hurt itself (when its frightened)
