 Are there any signs that a tadpole is getting ready to morph?

Are there any signs that a tadpole is going to morph?

Mouth size? It looks like Oscar’s mouth is changing. Is that a sign?

I just need to be ready when he does change!

The whole process takes a while. The first thing to look for is little back leg sprouts, and even when those start coming in it can still be a few months before it’s through morphing.

Thanks for the response. Does the mouth change before the legs start growing?

I just want to be ready, when he changes.

I caught him when he was 6" long....so he may be 1-2 years old?

What do you think about the age of Oscar?

about the same time

after the front legs, u have about a week to wait before u have a fully developed frog
(maybe longer for oscarsaurus, but he doesnt even have sprouted back legs, so itll be a long time

as for age, he maybe older than 2yrs, they can take longer

So , I should not worry until he gets back legs, correct? (about setting the tank different)

If I take a photo of Oscars side (back leg area)
could you tell me what stage he is in?

Oscar is worrying me to death.....I guess when I get most of the answers I will be able to sleep.

u don’t need to worry about him till his back legs are a descent size (like almost the length of the tail)

then u will later start seein his head shape changing
