At this point he’s used to life in captivity and might not even be able to cope with life outside anymore, I’d be afraid he wouldn’t have resistance to certain things in the water, or be able to deal with the changing seasons, finding food, etc. Is there a reason you might not keep him?

Reason is:

I have to take care of him every single day...food...2 leafs... boiled per day

take the poop out...

if i have to leave my house for 1-4 days...thats not going to work

i will add more later

LMAO!!!! y the hell do people say that??? its so not true

ive raised tadpoles and released them as frogs several times

besides, its a tadpole, not a frog

as long as it doesn’t recognize u as a food source, it will survive in the wild

because when you take it home, you give it a nice (clean) environment where everything is nice and there’s no competition for food or space or anything, and the bacteria are completely different. It’s like people, you could be born in one place, then move to another place all together, then go back and find yourself completely overtaken by the change in environment. In captivity there aren’t seasons (generally), and normally the tadpole would have hibernated through this winter and possibly morphed in the coming spring, without that winter the internal clock changes, and in captivity that might not make a difference, but in the wild missing a season can be a big deal.
