How Do I take Care of Them?

My friend was up on a hill looking for bluebellies, and he found a little puddle about 3in deep, and it was packed full of little tadpoles. We don;t know what kind they are. I just need to know how to take care of them. I am going to get some from him. What do I keep them in? What do I feed them? Oh and one more thing... HELP!!!!!

Just so everyone knows the pond was just about dried out so they would’ve died. We went back the day after and the pond was bone dry.

Quote:

-If they are Small and Black they will sure to be some sort of toad depending on the area you live in.
-If they are Bigger and Clear-Like brown, blackish or like greenish they will sure to be some sort of frog.

What do I keep them in

-Depending on how many you get, i would start with a rubber maid, a plastic tub, or a 10gal Aquarium.
-Have some rocks and pebbles in the bottom for them
-Make sure you have a lid with about 10 SMALL holes in it(About the size of a pencil lead or so).
-Use Declorinated Water
-Use a nice big Rock that comes above the water or something they can get on when they morph out of tadpole stage and become a Toad/Frog.

What do I feed them

-You can feed them many thinks like Algae Disks, Fish food, boiled lettuce.
-You can also let them feed on the surroundings like the rocks and pebbles as well as the sides of the tank.

I now think they are some sort of frogs. I live in San Jose, so I don;t know what they are. I have a 2.5 gallon tank with them in it and a rock, so they can surface when frogs. When They all are frogs I will make the tank half land, and half water. Is that right?
