 What is there to feed tadpoles?

I have fed it pellets but it doesnt like them, what else can i feed a tadpole, and please try to explain it. I heard lettuce or something but i dont know what they mean or how to make it?

boil water in a pan. then put a little bit ( about 2 table spoons) of lettuce in and let it boil until the lettuce looks mushy and kinda of like algae. then let it cool and put it in the tadpole tank. they will love it. also you can get tubifex worms which are cubes of dried up worms. they soak in the water and tads just suck the worms off.
