Who keeps their tads after metamorph?

Do many people keep their frogs after metamorphosis? What is a good setup if you do? Is it partial water and partial land?

I live in Melbourne, Victoria. I collected some tads from a local pond in 2003 and I think I posted here (maybe under this user, forgotten.) They all died before meta though. I was pretty young, and probably naive. But now I’ve read up a lot more (realizing how much of the guides are plaguerism :P )

My tads were fairly big though. Not tiny like most. Still, they didn’t see the days of having legs unfortunately.

I’d reeaallly like red-eyed tree frogs, but I don’t know if they exist in my area. They are in Australia, though.

So yeah:

-who keeps frogs?
-how?
-red-eyed (or just normal green) tree frogs in Melbourne?

Cheers :)

Well I’ve always planned on keeping whatever tadpoles I’ve had that morphed (only one success,a bullfrog, and I love her :D)
the care really depends on the kind of frog you have. I’ve always gotten tadpoles knowing what they were going to turn into (I buy from petstores, which makes it easier.) For tree frogs you’ll need mostly land when they’re full grown, with a shallow water dish. There are tons of requirements for certain frogs, and red eyes tend to be pretty fragile from what I understand. If you post your question in the tree frog forum, they can tell you lots about red eyes in general, and some might even know stuff about the tadpoles. So...I suggest you check out that forum :)

Thanks. I intend to keep an outdoor pond, not an enclosure btw.

Cheers, I’ll check it out.
