 Tadpole Poisoning? URGENT MATTER

I have recently caught many tadpoles from a local pond (maybe 40-ish) and brought them home. I put them in a container with 1/2 pond water, a bit of tap water (whoops!), and some declorinated water. A day later, I fed them unboiled lettuce that was freezed and thawed. The next day, I find all but one dead, and the last one is barely alive.

I need to know the culprit. Is it the clorinzed water or the lettuce?

Not really :P There were thousands of tadpoles in the pond... I raised them last year without a problem too...

Even a little chlorine can kill tadpoles since their skin is so absorbant. You can get this blue chemical for fish tanks that takes the chlorine out of water but make sure you put it in the water and let it sit for a day before putting you tads in it.

also, did you wash the lettuce? It might have had pesticides on it or something.

I washed it with tap water. Is there something wrong with my tap water?

The last tadpole made it. It has all four limbs and we put it in its own fish bowl. :D
