 HELP whats wrong with him

I got a tadpole about 2 months ago, He was doing fine eating well swimming good. but today when i was looking at him his skin on his leg looks ripped away from the rest of it. This is my frist tadpole ever and i dotn know how there legs change or what happens. I tried looking it up thinking maybe it was an infection but i didnt find anything like it. please help i dont want him to die.

and if you know what kind he is i would love to know?

That does not look normal to me. Adult frogs shed, but I’ve never heard of tadpoles doing it. And there was no color in the legs in those pictures, which is very odd. I have no idea what could cause that...my first thought was red leg disease, but it doesn’t even look like that. Wish I could help you, but I’ve got no clue. See if you can find some type of antibiotic for fish, and add that to the water in a smaller amount than directed I guess. A lot of people use melafix for their frogs, maybe that’ll help for the tadpole too...

Try posting in the frog section too, maybe even tree frog section since that gets more traffic, explain the situation, they might be able to help you more.
